I LOVE YOU ALWAYS FOREVER. Love – a catchword and a phenomenon that we can all associate with something. However universally understandable love may be, its expression remains individual. From the submissions to Regionale 27, the curatorial team chose nine artistic positions from Switzerland, Germany, and France that they had not personally known before and in whose works they discovered various facets of "love." The exhibition speaks of the personal keepsake, of obsessive fascination, of emotional attachment to higher powers, as well as of the profit-driven marketing of love and of passion that is not limited to the physical. Beyond the physical boundary of our bodies, love draws us into infinity with the promise always forever.

FANTARCHEOLOGY. With mulled wine and candle pulling, City SALTS opens in the garden by the Birs the group exhibition "Fantarcheology". "Fantarcheology" explores traces of the past and fantasizes about possible futures. At the same time, City SALTS opens a solo exhibition by Paula Santomé, the current Basel laureate of the Manor Art Prize. In her works, the artist reinterprets inherited narratives and examines their aftereffects in the present.

SHIFT (GALERIE I) | DEFLATE DEFLATE (GALERIE II). "Shift" deals with processes of reuse and displacement. Fragments, traces, and remnants of earlier works become the starting point for new images. What was initially a by-product of a working process develops a life of its own. Thus, images emerge from images that oscillate between repetition and change, original and afterimage, chance and deliberate placement.
"Deflate Deflate" gathers artworks that outside an art space could easily be mistaken for something else: an accident, an oversized toy, or a poetic everyday scene. Only the exhibition context changes our view. Visually as well as acoustically, the exhibition invites us to pause and look more closely. It asks how mutable our experiences, projections, and perspectives are.

• HEK (Haus der Elektronischen Künste), Münchenstein CH

TROMPE-L’ŒIL-DIGITAL. Trompe-l’œil is a traditional motif from Renaissance painting; through painterly craft, the illusion of three-dimensionality is created in a two-dimensional space. In this year's Regionale exhibition at the HEK, we take this art figure as a model and translate it into the digital present. What in historical painting was the view from an artificial window onto an Arcadian landscape becomes today digitally imitated natural phenomena. The works in the exhibition work with optical illusions, visual tricks, with distortions and mixtures of materialities, with the mimetic imitation of surface structures that become landscapes and architectures.

GETEILTE SICHT. "Geteilte Sicht" (shared view) is an exhibition that focuses on the tension between the curatorial gaze, the artists' view of their own work, and the perception of the viewers. The Regionale 27, co-curated by Kiki Seiler-Michalitsi and Martin Chramosta in two individual arrangements at the Kunst Raum Riehen, understands itself as an exhibition that emerges where these perspectives meet, complement, shift, or contradict one another. It is a provisional ordering of the visible that simultaneously leaves other possibilities open – and an invitation to see works anew and to discover connections that only unfold in the interplay between work and perception. Last but not least, "Geteilte Sicht" points to the fact that every exhibition is also a form of seeing.

NEVER LET ME GO. Boxers face each other, figures blur in the sunlight, and a woman with a machine body steps into the water. Clothes lie on cinema seats, a helmet becomes a soft shell, and red mattresses cover the floor. The exhibition brings together works by 14 artists. In paintings, installations, and projections, the human appears as a figure, partly fragmented and sometimes only as what will remain of them. The works hint at stories without revealing them. The title refers to Kazuo Ishiguro's novel, which tells of the longing for closeness and the knowledge of life's finitude. What makes us human? And what can be preserved?

Through a selection of works and archival documents, the exhibition explores the relationship between contemporary artistic production and the socio-economic history of the Rhine region, linked to industry and its technical (re)evolutions.
Each of the works echoes a stage of the production process that confers value on the work of art, positioning the product of artistic labor within a market economy rather than on its margins.
Extraction, fabrication, and speculation, intrinsic to the artist's practice, inscribe the work of art into the lineage of manufactured objects. This reasoning dialogues with the industrial past of the site, a former metal foundry.

GAIAS FIBERS – "Textile works". Gaia, that means our planet: the Earth. From Gaia, everything emerges. Lynn Margulis and James Lovelock therefore coined the idea of a symbiotic earth.
Fibers that this planet produces in manifold ways have been processed for tens of thousands of years. Textiles have always been central material agents of our global world. The artistic works explore the multifaceted relationship between nature, processuality, body, and textile materiality.

TRANSMISSIONS. "Transmissions" brings together eleven international artists whose practices engage with processes of transmission, translation, mediation, and transformation. The exhibition understands mediation as a reciprocal process shaped by unexpected turns and capable of calling established orders into question. At its center are possibilities of perception in a present shaped increasingly by technological systems that influence how knowledge and experience are transmitted. In response to the challenges of an increasingly digitalized present, Transmissions engages with an analogue openness to the unpredictable. Where certainties begin to falter, shifts in perspective can open up new spaces for reflection. The exhibition explores moments of pause and ambiguous constellations of relations. It asks what forms of exchange emerge where control and efficiency reach their limits.
